Scottish Government Shared Equity Support Scheme to help first time buyers purchase their own home

The Scottish Government have announced that the First Home Fund will continue for 2021/2022.

The scheme is aimed to help support first time buyers purchase their own home by providing up to £25,000 towards the cost of purchasing a property between 1st April 2021 to 31st March 2022.

Applications for a shared equity first home fund loan can now be made.

A scheme to help you buy your first home

To apply for the first home fund you will need;

  • At least one applicant is a first time buyer

  • Have a 5% deposit saved up

  • Be purchasing a home in Scotland

  • Have your mortgage agreed in principle

  • Have an offer accepted on the house you wish to buy.

  • To apply using a lender who supports the First Home Fund scheme applications
